The White patched Sergeant recorded from Bhutan
During the recent trip by our agent, Mr.Antanio Giudici of Thailand to Bhutan, a new butterfly species was recorded. This record is not only important of Bhutan, but also for the entire Indian Sub-continent as it shows a wider range extension. The species was recorded from Zhemgang, South-central Bhutan, one of the best location for butterflywatching in Bhutan. The trip lasted for 14 days and it covered western and central Bhutan. About 60 species of butterflies were recorded. Some other interesting species comprised of : Krishna Peacock (Papilio krishna) Yellow Kaiser (Penthema lisarda) Another rare species, Cigaratis rukmini was also photographed from the same location.
